Daily Chapel
All students attend daily chapel services. Morning Prayer from the Book of Common Prayer is adapted for use with children. Holy Eucharist is celebrated monthly and on Feast Days.
Episcopal & Inclusive
We use a modified version of the Morning Prayer service from The Episcopal Church’s Book of Common Prayer to create a developmentally appropriate and uplifting Chapel experience everyday. Students of all backgrounds are invited to sing and pray in ways that honor their own spiritual journeys.
The Spiritual Journey
Episcopal schools affirm belief in the innate spiritual capacities of all children. Through daily Chapel, we hope to build a community where each child can belong and find companionship and strength for the journey of life.
The Study of Religion
Religion classes at The Episcopal School of Knoxville are non-dogmatic. Students become familiar with dominant narratives of the Judeo-Christian tradition and are also introduced to the religions of the world. We believe religion study better prepares our students for success in an increasingly diverse and culturally-complex society.
Religion doesn’t narrow our view of the world; it broadens it to the love God has for all people.
