 The Annual Fund, which receives money from July 1-June 30 each year, is what makes up the difference between tuition and the actual cost of The Episcopal School’s operating budget. Tuition pays for about 86 percent of the actual cost, leaving a gap of about $1,440 each year per student.
The largest Annual Fund drive is the annual Gala, a fun and well-attended ball which the school hosts each February. Last year, the Gala grossed $70,000. This year, the projected goal is more than $100,000.
The Episcopal School is grateful to families and friends who donate to the Annual Fund. Donors may give in two ways: in restricted gifts, which are directed to a specific need, such as a playing field; or as unrestricted gifts, which the school has the authority to direct where it is most needed. One important use of the Annual Fund income is the school’s Scholarship Fund. Currently 18% of the school’s families benefit from Financial Aid.
