 The Episcopal School of Knoxville requires students to wear uniforms. These may be purchased at Educational Outfitters, 7111 Kingston Pike (located inside Office Depot). You may call (865) 583-3990.
Store hours are 10 a.m.-3 p.m. Monday through Friday.
The uniforms are described in detail in the Student Handbook. On field trips and other school functions, each student is required to wear a white uniform shirt unless instructed otherwise. Only the school’s sweaters and jackets as included in uniform guidelines are to be worn in the classrooms. Outer garments like coats and jackets need not conform to any particular color or style, as long as they are in good taste.
In general, the uniform guidelines are:
K-5 Girls
Jumpers: navy, scoop neck, 2-pleat; should touch the top of the kneecap
Skort: Navy
Pants: Navy, pleated twill or flat front with an approved belt
Shorts: Navy, pleated twill, cuffed, no shorter than one inch above the kneecap
Shirts:
• Blouse, white, Peter Pan collar, short sleeves
• Pullover pique knit polo shirt, white or gray, with the school logo
• Pullover knit turtleneck, white; no mock turtlenecks
• A white school uniform shirt may be required for field trips and special events.
Sweaters:
• Navy cardigan, sweater vest or polar fleece, or gray sweatshirt, all with school logo
Shoes: white sneakers, navy and white saddle oxfords, brown or tan suede “dirty” bucks, or navy T-strap Mary Jane’s.
K-5 Boys
Pants: Nay, pleated twill or flat front with an approved belt
Shorts: Navy, pleated twill, hemmed, no shorter than one inch above the kneecap
Shirts:
• Pullover pique knit polo shirt, white or gray, with school logo
• Pullover knit turtleneck, white; no mock turtlenecks
• A white school uniform shirt may be required for field trips or special events
Sweaters:
• Gray sweatshirts, navy cardigan, sweater vest or crew neck pullover sweater, all with school logo
Shoes: White sneakers, navy and white saddle oxfords, brown or tan suede “dirty” bucks.
6-8 Girls
Skirts: Plaid (#93) kilt, khaki, 2-kick pleat front & back, long enough to touch the top of the kneecap.
Pants: Khaki pleated twill or flat front, straight-legged, hemmed, touching the ankle.
Shorts: Khaki, pleated twill, cuffed, no shorter than one inch above the kneecap.
Shirts: “Summer” uniform of navy polo shirt with school logo may be worn from the beginning of the school year until Oct.1. Students may wear the polo type shirt again beginning April 15. White or blue, long sleeves, oxford cloth, button down collar, with the school logo, will be required beginning Oct. 1 until April 15.
Sweaters: Navy cardigan, crew neck, pullover sweater vest or polar fleece, or gray sweatshirt, all with school logo.
Shoes: Navy and white saddle oxfords, frown penny loafers with rubber soles, or brown or tan suede “dirty” bucks.
6-8 Boys
Pants: Khaki pleated or flat front twill, with an approved belt
Shorts: Khaki, pleated twill, hemmed, no shorter than one inch above the kneecap
Shirts: “Summer” uniform of navy polo shirt with school logo may be worn from the beginning of the school year until Oct. 1. Students may wear the polo type shirt again beginning April 15. White or blue, long sleeves, oxford cloth, button down collar, with the school logo, will be required Oct. 1-April 15.
Sweaters:
• Gray sweatshirts, navy cardigan, sweater vest or crew neck pullover sweater, all with school logo
Necktie: Boys must have the school tie, which is worn on days when Holy Eucharist is celebrated and on other special occasions.
Shoes:
• Dark brown or tan suede “dirty” bucks, or brown penny loafers with rubber soles
