ESK Library

Welcome to the Library
Many schools have quiet libraries because their facilities, big or small, are under-used. In stark contrast, the Episcopal School library is a bustling place filled with more than 12,000 volumes, videos, books on tape, more than 40 periodicals, and student designated computers. Students are encouraged to embark on independent study employing traditional reference materials as well as online databases to which the Episcopal School library subscribes.

Library Programs
The library is always a busy place! Students in kindergarten through 5th grade come here once a week to learn about authors, literary genres, research, and much more. We also have several programs in place to encourage reading and a love of literature.
Birthday books are presented on Fridays during chapel. For more information about birthday books and photos of book recipients, please click on the Birthday Books menu item on the left.
Author Visits
This year we had two authors on campus. Storyteller Connie Regan-Blake visited in November, and Sandra Philipson spent 2 weeks with our students in January and February, serving as an author-in-residence. These visits encouraged students to read and inspired them to try their own hands at writing! Our time with Mrs. Philipson produced our very own literary magazine called Saints' Stories!
Great Books
Middle school students can choose to participate in our Great Books program. We read from a selection of classic books then participate in faculty-led group discussion over lunch. For more information, please click on the Great Books menu item to the left.
Book Fairs
The library holds two book fairs each year. The first was held in November, and was a great opportunity to purchase holiday gifts. The second fair is held in May, and provides many of the summer reading list books. This year we will be able to sell book with no tax cost.
