Knoxville Opera Company singers performed at ESK for students March 30, 2009

The Performing Arts at ESK include instruction and performance opportunities in a school band and a choral music program. Singing is also a regular part of daily chapel.

The goal of the music program is to begin to build a lifelong love and appreciation for music. Students are exposed to the classics, contemporary and multicultural music. In the classroom, they will sing, move and play many varied classroom instruments. Students will begin the study of reading music, analyzing performances and creating their own melodies through improvisation.

Performance highlights include an annual Christmas program of Lessons and Carols at St. John's Cathedral, a spring musical, and several performances by both the band and the chorus. Annual Lower School Christmas program at St. John's Cathedral, Middle School Choral presentation of lessons and carols at Church of the Ascension, Middle School Spring Musical, The Second and Third grade play, The 4th and 5th Grade Musical and several performances by the band and chorus throughout the year.
