Our Campus and Facilities
State of the Art Facilities, Designed for Growth
The Episcopal School of Knoxville is situated on a 78-acre, wooded campus overlooking the Smoky Mountains. Designed with room for a high school in the future, The Episcopal School campus now features spacious, well-appointed buildings for its K-8 classes, excellent facilities for sports, and magnificent vistas for children’s out-of-doors educational experiences.
Key features of the campus include:
• A physical plant that includes a well-equipped administration building with gymnasium and dining hall;
• The Brewington Family Lower School, a 22,000 square foot complex that includes 12 classrooms, a library, art room, music room, foreign language lab and offices
• Googe Hall, a 22,000 square-foot Middle School building, with Siler Great Room, library, dining hall, fully equipped computer lab and media center
• St. Bartholomew’s Chapel, a free-standing Arts and Crafts style building housing daily Chapel services for all grade levels and our chaplain’s offices.
Magnificent Vistas Are Part of Each Day
Natural areas for frequent out-of-door studies include a nature trail; streams and a spring that are home to varied wildlife; undeveloped forests and meadowland; three working barns; and groves where children sometimes cut Christmas trees for their classrooms.
Sports facilities include the Kline Gymnasium with full-size basketball and volleyball courts, a new playing field for soccer and football, a cross-country loop that is one of the most challenging in the city; and a new tennis court.
The campus provides excellent school security and safety. Visitors enter by a single driveway that winds up a hill past the Episcopal Diocese offices and leads directly to our administration building. Buildings and facilities are designed for maintenance of security. All teachers receive training for handling any kind of emergency situation.
