Community Service

community service at ESKAll Episcopal School of Knoxville classes participate in community service projects. By emphasizing the responsibilities we have as citizens and members of God's created world, we hope that every child will serve people in need and find a deep sense of purpose through compassionate ministry. Our service projects range from serving meals to the homeless to collecting toys for needy children. We emphasize student service over projects that require collecting funds.

We spread our projects as evenly as possible throughout the year. We encourage parents to participate by supporting their child, but families should not feel obligated to take part in all projects. We hope you wil support those events or programs that are most meaningful to you and your family.

To foster a love of servanthood in the heart and mind of each child who passes through these doors, Episcopal maintains a commitment to community outreach through out Service-Based Learning Curriculum. Through this program we help each student to identify their talents for service and to become involved in a variety of community service projects, both local and world-wide in scope. The Service-Based Learning Curriculum includes:
• Planning and preparation by the students
• Service projects that are meaningful, academically related, and developmentally appropriate
• Reflection about the service through journal writing, discussion, art, or presentations
We hope that you will encourage your child in his or her volunteer efforts. The link below will provide an outline of the worthy projects our faculty and students are serving this year. We welcome your time and talent too. Should you be interested in participating in our service efforts, please contact Mac Brown.
