BESSIE COLEMAN
Biography of Bessie Coleman

bessiecoleman.jpgBessie Coleman was born in Atlanta, Texas on January 26, 1892. She learned how to speak French and went to France to learn how to fly a plane because they wouldn‘t let her go to flight schools in America because she was black. After she learned how to fly, she started doing air shows for people. On May 10, 1928 she had a crash and her foot got damaged. She had to go to the hospital. After she got better, she still flew airplanes. Bessie Coleman was the first black, woman pilot. She proved that the color of your skin doesn't matter but what is in your heart. She died in a plane crash in 1926.
